The Vaccination Debate
So… I’ve decided to enter the ‘Vaccination Debate’… Each day I am more and more convinced that my daughter’s Infantile Spasms were due to her 6 month old vaccinations… I am committed to finding answers and hearing all the arguments… My daughter is still severely immune compromised as her body has developed Neutropenia and for now she CANNOT have any vaccinations, nor would I give her any at this point!
As I mentioned, I am ‘entering’ the debate, meaning that many have gone before me with great information. I have been reading books and blog posts and wanted to share this one that was passed along to me:
http://lifeonthefrancofarm.blogspot.com/2011/06/6-points-i-would-have-to-believe-before.html
I have read this entire posting and have begun reading the articles she links to from sources like the CDC to the Supreme Court… Take the time to read, be educated, have an opinion – either way – based on information and not just the guilt trip doctors place on you!
I am putting this out there so that as a community we can all share our thoughts, knowledge and learn from each other – let me know what you think!

Jill,
I am so honored that you posted my article here. Thank you!
Darlene
PS – The vaccination issue has been a tough one for me as well, but the overwhelming evidence has given me peace with our decision. I hope your readers find the same.

Awesome blog! Welcome to the debate! My son too had reactions to his shots from day one! I really had no choice but to stop. I know that he would have been in much worse shape if we had continued with them. Thanks for this!

Highly likely that what you noticed as her mother is the truth. Our daughter developed spasms after her 6 month vaccines too. You can visit her website for more information, including information on vaccines at http://www.regardingcaroline.com/mychild I hope your daughter continues to improve!

I think LotFF’s blog post about why she doesn’t vaccinate completely sums up why we chose not to as well. My son is now going to be 2 next month and is totally vaccine free, and, according to or pediatrician, is the healthiest child in her practice. He has never had so much as an ear infection and doesnt suffer from many of the ailments many children do. He was fortunate enough to exclusively breasted for 6 months and we continued breast feeding until about 16 months when he self weaned. So, I recognize that helps. However, in my educated opinion ( and I went into research firmly on the pro-vacc side) I believe vaccines are unsafe and ineffective to boot. I am an educated individual and a nurse, and believe me when I say I’ve done my homework. I am so happy with our decision to remain vaccine free, but it pains me when I see friends as family’s children sick constantly (coincidentally the amount of time and severity of their illnesses always seems to coincide with how Utd they are on their caccines). It makes me so sad that these innocent babies are suffering. Hopefully we can spread the word an save a child from pain or suffering, or even death.
